Future Hall of Famer Shane Mosley has advised BoxingScene.com that he will train middleweight contender Curtis Stevens for his Big Knockout Boxing debut. Stevens is slated to fight on the second BKB card which is scheduled to take place on April 4th at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nev. It will be distributed on pay-per-view.
Stevens is known for his power and Mosley feels that will translate well in BKB, which is fought in a 17 foot diameter pit instead of the traditional squared circle in boxing. The small quarters encourage fighters to engage rather than use their legs and move around the ring.
"I never actually fought in BKB but it's pretty similar to (traditional) boxing," Mosley told BoxingScene.com. "Curtis is a powerful puncher and I am a powerful, tough puncher. Hopefully I can get him ready to attack and to win."
