In late October Shane Mosley Jr. (15-3) announced that he had signed with Mike Leandardi and Rick Torres' management company Victory Sports and Entertainment.
The middleweight prospect competed on the rebooted Contender Series in 2018, winning his first 2 bouts before losing to Brandon Adams in the finals. He bounced back from that defeat by going 2-0 in 2019 and plans on fighting for the first time as Victory Sports fighter in the very near future.
"I want to tell the fans to stay posted. We have some good things coming up that are in the works. We will have some news in the very near future. My managerial team is working on some big things," Mosley Jr. told BoxingScene.com.
Having grown up with a Hall of Fame father and already having been on reality television, Shane Jr. believes that he already has the experience under his belt to deal with the pressure that comes along with the bigger fights that he hopes to compete in.
"I think that all of the exposure has been good. I believe that being around all of that helps me to deal with more of the fame that will be coming in the future," he explained.
Mosley Jr. recently turned 29-years-old but is still very young as a professional. He didn't have much of an amateur career and has had to learn on the fly in the pro ranks. For that reason he believes he is still improving and that he hasn't come close to hitting his peak yet.
"I have been learning on the job and I think that is to my benefit. All of my losses weren't blowouts where I got destroyed. It was more so little mistakes that I made as I was learning on the job. When I become champion I can say I am better for the mistakes that I made," Mosley stated.
The date for his ring return is expected to be announced in the next couple of weeks.
