Middleweight prospect Shane Mosley Jr. (9-1) is looking to return to the ring soon after a busy 2016 campaign that saw him go 5-0.
The son of former three-division champion and future Hall of Famer Shane Mosley also revealed that he has added world class trainer Eric Brown to his team.
Brown has trained the likes of former champions Paulie Malignaggi, Peter Quillin and several other top fighters. He has worked out of Freddie Roach's Wild Card and more recently Wild Card West gym for years.
The younger Mosley Jr. made it clear that his father is still a big part of the team and that he just wanted to add another great boxing mind to the team.
"Me and my father are working on getting a fight in the near future. I am training hard at the Wild Card and Wild Card West with Eric Brown. He is a great trainer trainer. I love working with him," said Mosley Jr.
"My dad is always going to be in my corner and at the gym, he is going to give me his opinion. It is always good to have another set of eyes."
As for his long range plans, Shane Jr. said that he plans on continuing to build up his record so that next year he can face some of the top fighters in the middleweight division.
"I want to have 6 fights and get to 15-1 by end of year. Then in 2018 it is going to be time to step up," Mosley Jr. told BoxingScene.com.
