BoxingScene.com has been advised by multiple sources that former three-division world champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley (46-8-1, 39KOs) has contacted Golden Boy Promotions about possibly facing WBA welterweight champion Paulie "Magic Man" Malignaggi and IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander "The Great".
Mosley retired after his lopsided May loss to Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. Evidently with the time off Mosley feels rejuvenated and wants to make one last run, this time in the welterweight division.
Malignaggi is the leading candidate and is slated to return in April at the Barclays Center in his hometown of Brooklyn, NY. Showtime will most likely televise his next fight. Alexander is scheduled to face his mandatory challenger Kell Brook. The fight was booked for January 19th but an injury to Brook will push it back a few weeks - meaning that a potential fight against Mosley couldn't happen till late in the Spring at the earliest.
