Kiwi boxer Shane Cameron (27-2, 21KOs) believes he could do what David Tua couldn't - beat Monte Barrett. Cameron's camp has tabled an offer to the American boxer who beat Tua last month. Tua holds a 2009 two round knockout win over Cameron, who moved down to cruiserweight soon after.
After dropping down to cruiserweight, Cameron's manager Ken Reinsfield says his fighter would have no problem stepping back up to heavyweight. He says he expects Shane would be in the high 90's, well below his old weight of 105 kilos [231-pounds], but Barrett weighed in only 100 kilos [220-pounds] for the second Tua fight. Cameron suffered an injury after his last bout win over Dominic Vea but is fit again.
