Light heavyweight Vyacheslav Shabranskyy (15-0, 12 KO's), who is coming off a solid ten-round decision victory over Yuniesky Gonzalez on December 19th, returns this Friday night at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles versus veteran trialhorse Derrick Findley in an eight-rounder.

Robert Diaz, the head matchmaker for Golden Boy Promotions, told BoxingScene.com - "I'm always reading what the fans want, the comments and everything and trying to at least to give them what they want."

"But I've read a few comments where,'Oh, this is a step back after a big win on HBO Latino, he's coming to Belasco.' I don't see it as that. I see it as a stay-busy, stay-active fight."

The reality is that the Golden Boy brass did not  wanted to keep 'Slava' busy because they believe a major opportunity might be on the horizon.

"Because any minute, (Sergey) Kovalev's going to need a dance partner. We've had talks with Main Events. Andre Ward's going to need a dance partner if he doesn't go straight to Kovalev,"stated Diaz."So 'Slava's in a great spot, we just gotta keep moving up, get him wins, keep him in the eye of the public.

"Then sooner or later the big fights are going to happen."
