Undefeated up and coming heavyweight contender Seth Mitchell (25-0, 19KOs) spoke with BoxingScene.com to give us his thoughts on the upcoming fight between IBO/WBA/WBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko (57-3, 50KOs) and mandatory contender Tony Thompson (36-2, 24KOs).
Mitchell, who looks at Thompson as a mentor, believes his friend will do better in his second opportunity against Wladimir. Thompson was stopped by Wladimir in eleven rounds in 2008. Mitchell himself is not looking to fight Klitschko until "sometime next year."
"He's just very determined, very focused. He has a second opportunity to try and get his goal accomplished and that's to become heavyweight champion of the world. I fully support him and I believe that he's going to have a very good showing," Mitchell told BoxingScene.com.
Mitchell broke down the game place for Thompson to score the upset.
"Stay behind his jab, use angles and definitely get on the inside He has to be rough with Klitschko. I think that's easier said than done. A lot of people they know the game plan but they have to get inside the ring and implement that game plan," Mitchell said.
