Serhii Bohachuk will remain active this spring while in pursuit of a world title shot.

The top-rated WBC junior middleweight contender is set to return to the ring May 17 at Commerce (California) Casino against Mykal Fox, Tom Loeffler—Bohachuk’s promoter—told BoxingScene in confirming a report on the matchup.

Ukraine’s Bohachuk 25-2 (24 KOs)—who lives and trains in Los Angeles—aims to bolster his chances to fight for a world title by year’s end with the outcome. He last fought on December 21, when he stopped late replacement Ishmael Davis in the sixth round in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
