Former junior lightweight title challenger Sergio Thompson is in trouble in Mexico after allegedly assaulting his stepmother and half-brother — and doing so in front of a police station, according to Proceso magazine.

The father’s wife — Thompson’s stepmother — showed up at the station, alongside her two sons. The father asked her to leave. Conflict broke out, and Thompson allegedly hit his 21-year-old stepbrother, breaking his nose. The stepmother then, well, stepped in and then “lost her balance,” the article said.

This isn’t Thompson’s only recent brush with the wrong side of the law. He also was arrested after allegedly assaulting multiple police officers while out drinking with his friends, the article said.

The 30-year-old lost a title bout this past August, dropping a unanimous decision to Takashi Miura. He’s fought once since, scoring a first-round knockout in December. That brought his record to 28-3 with 26 knockouts.
