BoxingScene.com spoke to former junior middleweight champion Sergio "The Latin Snake" Mora about his plans to return to the ring.

Mora captured the junior middleweight title in 2008 when he defeated the late Vernon Forrest via majority decision. He was the first Contender Series participant to capture a world title. The East Los Angeles native is looking to rebound from his upset split decision loss to Brian Vera this past February.

Mora revealed that he was offered the fight versus Paul Williams that Erislandy Lara ultimately took and lost via controversial decision this summer. 

"I was last offered a fight with Paul Williams before Lara took it but I didn't sign on because they wanted the fight at 154lbs," Mora told BoxingScene.

Mora said that he is looking at returning to the ring either on October 14th on a Telefutura  televised show or on October 15th on the undercard of the Bernard Hopkins-Chad Dawson championship fight at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Either way Mora said that he plans on fighting at 160 pounds and that his catchweight fights and junior middleweight fights are a thing of the past.

"I plan on campaigning at 160 pounds," stated Mora. "I am looking for the best opportunity at 160 pounds and am determined to win a middleweight title."

The fighter known as The Latin Snake said that 160 pounds is his best weight and that it will show in his next fight. 

"I am a natural 160 pound fighter and have never lost at middleweight!," said Mora.
