Middleweight Sergio Martinez (47-2-2, 26KOs) would like to fight in Mexico on July 9, with Alfredo Angulo as the opponent. He says there is a "60% chance" that his next fight takes place in Mexico. Martinez said it all depends on whether he can secure HBO's support on fighting in the country. Some of the opponents mentioned to Martinez include Angulo, Peter Manfredo Jr. and Andy Lee.
"I think my next fight could be in Mexico. There are a lot of possibilities already being discussed about it. I would be very happy because this is a country I love, and I love the people and I would be a very happy man to fight in a place that I consider my second home," Martinez said to Sal Rodriguez.
