Middleweight king Sergio Martinez (49-2-2, 28KOs) is open to dropping down in weight for the right fight. If Martinez is unable to finalize a September fight against WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (45-0-1, 31KOs) - the Argentine star is willing to move down as low as 150-pounds to make face a major name - and that includes WBC 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (39-0-1, 29KOs).
“I like challenges. In my last fight [against Matthew Macklin] I [made weight at] 157 pounds....it is easier for me to get down to 154 than move up to 168. For [Floyd] Mayweather I can even go down to 150, but if not, Alvarez is a great champion who is going to make history and it would be a great challenge for me to face him," Martinez said.
