K2 Promotions arranged another night of boxing at the Palace of Sports in Kharkov, Ukraine. In the main event of the night, WBO #6 ranked light welterweight Sergey “Professor” Fedchenko (29-1, 13 KOs) took another step towards worldwide recognition after a narrow decision over former world title challenger and amateur star Willy Blain (24-2, 4 KOs) of France over twelve tactical rounds.

The bout was fought in a measured pace with neither fighter prevailing. However, despite a disappointing cut over his right eyebrow, the local hero was more active than his WBO #15 opponent. Blain also suffered an injury to his left arm in the tenth round and lost the championship rounds. In the end, Victor Fessetchko (Ukraine) and Vladimir Nazarov (Russia) had it 116-112, and Zoltan Eynedi scored the fight 115-112 – in favour of Sergey Fedchenko.

Highly regarded Ukrainian light heavyweight Vyacheslav Uzelkov (25-1, 16 KOs) tuned up for a possible crack at Eduard Gutknecht for the European crown by knocking out Belarussian journeyman Dmitry Adamovich (7-27, 5 KOs) in the fourth round. Adamovich was knocked down in the first. Uzelkov is ranked #5 by the WBA, #11 by the WBC, #12 by the WBO and #15 by the IBF. He had an unsuccessful crack at the WBA title in 2010, losing a one-sided decision to Kazakh slugger Beibut Shumenov.

In an even fight, WBO #13 welterweight Valery Brazhnik (27-0-1, 16 KOs) scored a surprisingly wide decision over Georgian David Makaradze (17-8, 7 KOs) with unreasonable scores of 78-74 and 79-74 (twice). Both fighters presented a total lack of defense.

Valentin Holovko (15-0, 10 KOs) defeated another Georgian Kakhaber Avetisyan (20-16-1, 6 KOs) with a TKO in the third round. The stoppage was forced by a cut.

Super middleweight Alauddin Murtazaliev (14-3-1, 10 KOs) forced Georgian Mindia Nosadze (13-5, 9 KOs) to retire in his corner after the second round due to a hand injury.

Lightweight Rustam Memetov (8-2, 3 KOs) improved his record after a fourth round kayo of Alexander Vakhtangashvili (8-5-1, 2 KOs) of Georgia. Memetov knocked his opponent out with a wicked shot to the liver. The Georgian was also down in the third round.
