Joe Selkirk will face Slovakian opposition in his return this weekend.

The super welterweight, 30, will come up against Rastislav Frano over six rounds at Manchester Arena, exclusively live on BoxNation, as part of promoter Frank Warren’s year-ending ‘Xmas Cracker’ card on December 19.

Selkirk (13-0, 7 KOs) suffered an injury in his last fight, resulting in an eight-month injury layoff, but he will come back on the undercard of Andy Lee’s WBO middleweight title defence against Billy Joe Saunders, which is flanked by Liam Smith’s first WBO super welterweight title defence against Wythenshawe’s Jimmy Kelly Jr.

Frano (4-9-1, 3 KOs) has boxed in the UK once before and has been known to travel, but he has yet to step up into title contention and will provide former WBO European champ Selkirk with a tough test as the Liverpudlian looks to get into pole position to challenge for the British title, which is currently vacant and being contested by Liam Williams and Kris Carslaw on the same card that features a further five title fights, in the early part of 2016.

Meanwhile, Anthony Yarde (3-0, 2 KOs), Jack Flatley (1-0) and Dale Coyne (2-0, 1 KO) have all been confirmed as late additions to the Christmas blockbuster and will each box over four rounds against respective opposition.
