Andrew Selby will be hoping to take his first step towards a potential world title fight in his next outing.

The Welsh wizard, who is the brother of IBF featherweight world champion Lee Selby, is currently 6-0 (4 KOs) as a pro, since turning over following a glittering amateur career.

Selby, 27, won the vacant British flyweight crown back in May and, after ousting Felix Moncada midway through a scheduled 10-round contest in Edinburgh earlier this month, will now be looking towards the top of the tree.

He already has his next fight planned and will come up against a once-defeated Filipino.

Selby faces 21-year-old Jake Bornea (11-1, 5 KOs) on November 18, exclusively live on Spike TV, as part of the undercard to George Groves’ WBA International super-middleweight title defence against Germany’s Eduard Gutknecht at Wembley’s SSE Arena.

The vacant IBF Inter-Continental strap will be at stake in the clash between Selby and Bornea and winning such honours propel ‘AC Superstar’ to higher heights within the rankings. He currently holds the number 14 spot.

Bornea will travel for the first time to box Selby, having had all previous 12 starts in his home country. He is a former holder of the World Boxing Federation International flyweight belt, the current WBO Asia Pacific Youth champion and has been an unsuccessful challenger to the WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental flyweight title.

Also on the Groves-Gutknecht card, Paddy Gallagher (10-2, 6 KOs) and Tamuka Muchapondwa (15-0, 4 KOs) will clash in an eliminator for the British welterweight title which is currently held by Bradley Skeete.

As previously reported by Boxing Scene, Conrad Cummings faces Ronny Mittag for the vacant IBF Inter-Continental middleweight belt, and there are spots on the bill for English welterweight champion Johnny Garton as well as fellow 147lb pair Dan Keenan and Dean Richardson, who are both currently undefeated.
