Jospeph Gaxiola, who is part of Team Giovani Segura, informed BoxingScene.com that the WBA/WBO light flyweight champion's November 27th title defense versus Filipino Denver Cuello is officially signed, sealed and delivered.
The bout will headline a card televised by Fox Sports with IBF lightweight champion Miguel Vasquez (26-3) defending his title versus Ricardo Dominguez (32-6-2) in the co-feature. The fight which takes in Tijuana, Mexico will also be televised by TV Azteca south of the border.
When asked if a rematch with Ivan Calderon is still in the works for 2011, Gaxiola told BoxingScene, "A rematch is still in the works for early next year if Calderon wants it."
Team Segura expects a spectacular performance by the fighter known as "El Guerrero Azteca" or the Aztec Warrior. "Giovani has been sparring against Brian Viloria and Abner Mares. We will see if Calderon still wants to fight Giovani after he sees Gio's performance on November 27th."
