MAYWOOD, California – Tough little guys Giovanni Segura and Francisco Arce will be featured in an eight round flyweight battle on Friday, March 3 at the Maywood Activities Center in a card presented by Top Rank Inc. and Ray Alcorta.

Segura (12-0-1, 9 KO’s) of Los Angeles will put his undefeated record on the line against Arce (19-2-1, 10 KO’s) of Los Mochis, Mexico in the co-main event of the show to be telecast by Telefutura during its highly popular show “Solo Boxeo de Miller”.

Ticket prices for this card will be $35, $50 and $100 and are available by calling (323) 219-1105 and at the Maywood Activities box office at 4801 E. 58th Street. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. and first bell is schedule for 5:15 p.m.

This will surely be a step up in competition for Segura who is looking for a big 2006 that will help him leap into the world rankings. Segura has won 10 consecutives fights after having a draw in his second professional fight.

Arce, the younger brother of the very popular world champion Jorge “Travieso” Arce, who will be at ringside with his brother is also looking to make a name for himself in boxing and these are the type of fights that will do that for a fighter on his way up.

This will be the second fight for Segura in 2006. On January 20 here in Maywood he stopped Juan Carlos Perez in the first round with a thunderous right hand.

Arce is 12-1-1 in his last 14 bouts. This will be the first bout in 2006 for the lanky boxer. In his most recent effort on December 10 of last year he stopped Julio Grimaldo in the fourth round in Monterrey, Mexico.

The main event will feature Fernando “Pillo” Trejo of Mexico City in a defense of this NABF lightweight title.
