On July 17, the state capital of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will once again become the venue for Universum Champions Night. The unbeaten middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik (29-0-0, 10KOs) will face Khoren Gevor (31-4-0, 16KOs). They met on Tuesday at a local press conference in City Hall in Schwerin. Zbik, since July 2009, has held the WBC interim championship belt. The tense duel with Gevor will be broadcast live on ZDF.

Sebastian Zbik: "We have trained together for years, and have much in common. We now have to hide that for the fight in the ring. We break apart, and then we'll be friends again. Whoever the fight against Gutknecht Stieglitz, knows that there is no such thing as a friendship fight. And I am pleased to finally fight against someone who can fight well. Against Khoren I do not always have to be afraid of head-butting, as against Spada. Kelly Pavlik has now clearly explained, that he will change his weight class. Martinez also a world champion, will probably go back down one class. So the fight on the 17th of July could be for the full world title. I'm excited."

Khoren Gevor: "His statistics tell it all. He has great experience and a great record. He is not a vain interim champion. But I have changed a lot. I moved to Kleve on the border with Holland. Ex-world champion Michele Aboro made contact with my new coach Orlando and I am very happy in Holland. Sebastian and his team know me very well. So I must change in order not to be predictable. I am now even taking yoga, and sparring more rounds than ever before."
