It was reported by media outlet STV, that WBO featehrweight champion Scott Harrison could be released from a Spanish jail, where he's been held since October 6, by the weekend. Harrison is being accesed of a number of charges, the most serious is the charge of assaulting a Spanish police officer.
According to his manager Barry Hughes, he was advised that Harrison may get out this weekend, and get back to preparing for his December 9 bout against Nicky Cook at the ExCel Arena.
"We are very hopeful of movement in the near future. There is no release date but they don't have the same system as we do here. As soon as the papers are stamped, he will be released immediately. We are very, very positive that we will see Scott by the weekend," Hughes said.
