Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has a very good feeling about British super middleweight prospect George Groves (9-0, 7 KOs) of England. Groves will make his American debut on July 31 as part of the Juan Manuel Marquez-Juan Diaz undercard at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Groves is regarded as a very exciting fighter in his country and there are high hopes for him. He is being matched against Mexico's Alfredo Contreras (11-7-1, 5 KOs). Schaefer expects nothing but good things from him.

"Groves is one of the most talked about fighters in England and I think that he's right there to break through," said Schaefer. "He's a tremendous talent."

Groves will be part of a mini-British invasion on the night of the show. WBA heavyweight champion David Haye will be serving in a promotional capacity in the corner of Groves, who is promoted under the Hayemaker banner. WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan will also be there, at ringside, with heavy interest in the outcome of the main event.

"David will be there in the corner with George Groves. We're going to be having Amir Khan there," said Schaefer. "This has the makings of an all-star night, with all of the fights and all of the fighters who will be at ringside."
