Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer stated that the upcoming Oscar De La Hoya-Manny Pacquiao battle on December 6, will not be an episode of "dancing with the stars," an obvious jab at Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his fight with De La Hoya from last May. Schaefer expects a war between two fighters who are going to show up and exchange punches from the first bell.

The paper quoted Top Rank's Bob Arum as stating that a decision to take the fight was not based on the money. That statement sure could have fooled everyone. The fight almost fell apart a few months ago when Pacquiao refused to agree to a 70-30 split in favor of De La Hoya.

"I believe that this fight is goes to become a classic", Arum said. "And we accepted the fight not for the money, but because we understand that Pacquiao can win.  He is convinced that he can win and he is being prepared for that. Freddie Roach [Pacquiao's trainer] thinks that Pacquiao is going to win and Bruce Trampler [Top Rank matchmaker] - also thinks this."
