Junior welterweight contender Lamont Peterson (28-1-1, 14 KOs) of Washington, D.C., is still being considered as an April 16 opponent for WBA king Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KOs) of England, according to Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions. Khan had recently voiced his complaints over Perterson's financial demands in the British press.

"Khan is definitely fighting in the United Kingdom on April 16, we don't have any update on any opponent yet. We're talking to three or four different opponents for Amir Khan, but I really don't want to disclose who those three or four possibilities are," said Schaefer.

"Lamont Peterson is still one of them, I can say that. But, we are determined to lock in the opponent next week. We're pretty close to getting this done. HBO is going to televise."
