Both WBA middleweight champ Maselino Masoe from New Zealand and German challenger Felix Sturm weighed in at 159.5 at today´s weighin at the Moebel Kabs near the Universum gym. Both looked fit and trim and a lengthy staredown followed. MC Gerd Mueller then announced that they had drawn in that department but Sturm, looking very fired up, shook hishead and pointed to himself. Masoe smiled, got dressed and left the ring.

WBA bantam champ Wladimir Sidorenko came in at 117.75 lbs so did his challenger, Panamanian Ricardo Cordoba. These two were all smiles, no staredown and Cordoba, a tall, rangy kid, drank a Cola as soon as he was off the scales.

Vladimir Virchis, 242, looked a lot bigger and more solid than Ruslan Chagaev, 233.35. At the stake are two titles; the WBA I/C and the WBO I/C in what shapes up as a crossroads fight for both men.

There will all in all be eight fights on the bill at the Color Line Arena tomorrow night. A local paper reported that there were 7000 tickets sold.
