"Stronger than ever," was the talk coming from Eddy Reynoso, manager of Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, referring to the status of the pride of Jalisco, Mexico as he starts the final stage of his training for his July 10 fight at the majestic Arena VFG, for the silver world welterweight championship of the WBC, against Argentine fighter Luciano Cuello.

So far, after three weeks of work in Tepic, is only at 70 percent of his potential and is expected on Saturday July 3 to return to Guadalajara. Álvarez is 'like a knife' for his next fight. Alvarez is getting some tough sparring from two boxers with strong mobility in the ring.

The two daily physical activity sessions are complemented by studying videos of the of Luciano Cuello, "for planning the right strategy," said Eddy Reynoso.  Alvarez is going into the final phase of his training starting on Monday. He plans to be in the city of Guadalajara by July 5, to give himself a few days to finish up training and to take part in the promotional activities for the fight.

Also on the card, the youngest of the Kameda brothers, Tomoki "little Mexican" Kameda, will see action.
