Trainer and co-manager Edison Reynoso is laying out the remainder of the year for WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who next week will travel to Mexico City to accept an award from the WBC for his recent win over Ryan Rhodes. The plan for Alvarez, according to Reynoso, is to make two more defenses of his title in 2011, with the first already scheduled for September 17th. Reynoso is still pushing Alfonso Gomez as the frontrunner to face Alvarez.
Reynoso said that he and his father, Jose "Chepo" Reynoso, will travel with Saul to Los Angeles, California to meet with Golden Boy Promotions. They want to finalize the details for Saul's next fight. The fight is going to take place in either California, Las Vegas, Veracruz, Monterrey or Tuxtla Gutierrez.
