Undefeated welterweight contender Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has no interest in continuing his rivalry with fellow Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. For the last year or two, Alvarez has been calling out Chavez Jr. to an all-Mexican clash. The rivalry became so heated that WBC president Jose Sulaiman had to get involved to settle things down after Alvarez continued to call Chavez a fraud who was living off the name of his famous father.

"I don't have interest in fighting Chavez Jr. The truth is, I'm going for bigger things, against good fighters, and right now I'm in a good part of my career. We are looking for fighters tough fighters with big names. Someone like [Manny] Pacquiao early next year or at the end of this year or next. Julio César Chávez Jr. does not even enter my mind right now," Alvarez said to The Record.

Alvarez returns on the Mayweather-Mosley pay-per-view undercard on May 1. He wants to make a big splash in the United States. A new promotional deal signed with Golden Boy Promotions is going to build his name in America. Most of his fights have been in Mexico but he doesn't think he'll fight in the country for a while.

"I don't believe that [I'll return to Mexico] this year [to fight]. I've already signed on for three fights with Oscar de la Hoya. They are going to be great and I do not want to risk anything. There will always be time to fight in Mexico," Alvarez said.
