Mexican welterweight boxing sensation Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, advised BoxingScene.com that he has absolutely no interest in sparring with Manny Pacquiao, but he does want to fight him, and anytime like tomorrow would be just fine.

Canelo, who’s looking super fit and noticeably bigger without being fat, breakfasted lightly on an energy drink matching the color of his hair, while in marked contrast, reporters wolfed down plate loads of scrambled eggs, bread and cakes.

He was on a whirlwind tour of Mexico City to promote his July 10th fight in his home State of Jalisco against durable Argentinian Luciano Principito Cuello, who last year lost a ten round unanimous decision against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. - the only loss in his career so far.

As such Cuello, who’s won twenty six fights, with twelve by KO, is a credible test. Canelo also declared that he’s really motivated to be fighting in front of his own people, and this is a good fight for the learning curve.

Canelo who weighed in a 149 pounds in his last fight against Jose Miguel Cotto on May 1st on the undercard of Mayweather vs. Mosley, overcame a moment in round one where he was seriously hurt - to finally overwhelm Cotto with a ninth round TKO. He said he’s definitely learned a lot from the first of the Cotto encounter, and the fight was an excellent experience, and learning process which is still ongoing. He also added that everyone can have problems with weight, but he’s still comfortable making the welter limit.

Canelo, who’s the NABF Welterweight and WBC Youth Champion, said his future hit list includes Pacquiao, Mayweather, the younger Cotto and Andre Berto. But he respects the advice of WBC President Jose Sulaiman, who’s said the first few months of next year would be a better time for him to go after the ultimate prize.

Asked if he’d like to spar with Manny Pacquiao, Canelo said "no"…adding that he wants to fight him, and next year would be ideal, but if he was advised to fight him tomorrow, then tomorrow it would be!

He sagely added: “I’m ready to fight, but everything has its time.”
