Both combatants fought in spurts, relying on their sudden thrusts and surges. Satybaldiev was a bit more consistent but the Serbian veteran gave him fits in almost every exchange. It might be said that the Russian was short in power department but Ajetovic has never been stopped in his career (despite fighting the best in his weight class, including such standouts as Dmitry Pirog, Matthew Macklin, Maxim Vlasov and Daniel Geale) so it wasn't much of a case. Satybaldiev rallied in the last quarter of the bout to edge Ajetovic, 34, just barely.

Young super bantamweight gun Evgueny Smirnov (7-0, 2 KOs) acquired his first career title with a hard-fought split decision over Mexican counterpart Noe Martinez "Cortito" Raygoza (19-7-2, 7 KOs).
Smirnov, who is sharing his time between Russia and Spain, was an aggressor, moving forward and winging hard. Raygoza, physically overpowered, gave as much as he took and was more precise than Smirnov in doing so, though the Russian has hardly felt any affect of those punches.
Being too straightforward Smirnov, 21, had problems finding his distance and, more importantly, his fight rhythm. Raygoza, also 21, did better in counterpunching - specifically in the midst of the contests. As rounds passed by it became clear, the Mexican had little left. He fought on his character alone in the closing two rounds, while the Russian yougster also added some pop to his punches and almost knocked the Mexican out late into the fight.
No scores were announced, while BoxingScene had it 96-94 - for Smirnov, who is now the WBC Youth 122lb titlist.

Making his Russian debut, former WBA interim super middleweight titleholder Stanislav Kashtanov (32-1, 18 KOs) easily stopped Tanzanian Mada Maugo (19-13, 13 KOs) in the third round.
