On the same day Roy Jones Jr. was knocked out cold on the outskirts of the Third Ring Road, another, much smaller but no less interesting (for a hardcore junkie) event took place at the Artist nightclub under promotion of local Armenian Aram Davtyan. There were eight fights on the card with ethnic Armenians playing crucial roles in the event.
Firstly, southpaw light welterweight Manvel Sargsyan, originally from Gyumri, Armenia, dominated Filipino Ryan Sermona (18-8, 11 KOs) over eight rounds to stop him at 1:59 of the ninth.

Sargsyan was in full control, dropping Sermona down in round three. Scores were 80-71 (thrice) at the time of stoppage. Sargsyan is now WBC Eurasian Boxing Council 140lb champion. He is also 7-0, 4 KOs, in 2015.

Another Gyumri native Vahe Sarukhanyan (12-1-1, 2 KOs) survived some late scares, including a knockdown in the eighth round, to get a victory over another Filipino Ray Laspinas (20-12-6, 12 KOs) for the interim WBC Eurasian Boxing Council lightweight title. Scores were 120-109, 119-110, and 118-110. Full title belongs to another Filipino Jheritz Chavez.
