According to a recent interview with Endi, former junior middleweight champion Daniel Santos said that he might be fighting on the undercard to Roy Jones Jr. vs. Felix Trinidad at New York's Madison Square Garden on January 19.

Santos' recent knockout win over Jose Rivera was a mandatory eliminator for a shot at unbeaten WBA junior middleweight champion Joachim Alcine. He hopes that Alcine will be the opponent that night. But, Alcine does not have to make a mandatory defense until next June, so Santos may have to wait a while.

"(Don King) told me that I could be fighting on January 19", Santos said. "I don't know if it will be a title fight or not. If it is not with Alcine, it will be with someone else. All I know is, whoever the opponent may be, I'll be even better."
