WBC Super bantamweight champion Leo "Terremoto" Santa Cruz (27-0-1, 15 KOs) is ready to test his silky skills against Manuel "Suavecito" Roman (17-2-3, 6 KOs) on Saturday September 13th at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas. After this fight, Santa Cruz wants a unification with WBC/WBA champion Guillermo Rigondeaux.

Leo, who trains with his Father, Jose Santa Cruz, and his brothers, Jose Armando and Roberto, commented - " I am in excellent condition. I started my training camp a month ago, and if the fight was tomorrow I'd be ready to climb into the ring."

"I respect my opponents. Roman is a good fighter, but I always step go into the ring with a winning mentality. My next step after him is facing [Guillermo] Rigondeaux. I want to fight him, as I'm happy to give to the fans what they want. He says he will take me to school, and I acknowledge that's he's a good fighter, but I'm a Mexican who fights frontward and I always leave everything in the ring."

Roman is a former sparring of Santa Cruz from the Maywood Boxing Gym.
