Julio Cesar Chavez Jr will go into his most significant fight when he takes on hard-punching hometown hero Ray Sanchez III on Top Rank's 'Latin Fury' PPV which is scheduled at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, N.M. on Saturday, Dec. 1.
Two-time world champion Jorge Arce of Los Mochis, Mexico. Arce, 47-4 with 36 KOs, is scheduled to box 12 rounds on 'Latin Fury' in the co-feature.
Chavez Jr., 21, is the son of the legendary 'El Grande Campeon Mexicano - four-time world champion Julio Cesar Chavez. Chavez Jr has a record of 33-0-1. He will face his most fierce opponent in Sanchez who has a record of 20-1 and is unbeaten since 2003. Sanchez has promised he will defeat Chavez Jr.
"Chavez Jr made a big mistake coming to my hometown," said Sanchez, born and raised in the South Valley of Albuquerque. "There's no way I will lose."
Tickets at $150, $100, $50 and $30 will soon go on sale at Ticketmaster.com. There will be four bouts on the PPV.
