Henry Rivalta has added another blue chip prospect to his growing stable. The Florida-based manager has recently inked a deal with unbeaten welterweight Samuel Vasquez, joining highly-touted newcomers Erickson Lubin and Galarza.
All three are slated to appear on the Iron Mike Productions-promoter card Saturday evening at Sands Resort Casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
“I am pleased that my team and Mr. Rivalta reached an agreement,” said Vasquez (12-0, 8KO). “This is the best thing that could have happened at this stage of my career.
Saturday’s bout comes versus another unbeaten newcomer, albeit a far more proven ring novice as Vasquez faces Dominican Republic’s Berlin Abreu in a scheduled six-round preliminary bout. The fight takes place roughly four hours East of Vasquez’ hometown of Monessen, Pennsylvania.
"We are very happy to be able to sign a top prospect like Vasquez,” said Rivalta, whose Henry Rivalta Management stable is rapidly expanding. “Samuel is a promising talent that will be ready for prime time in no time. As a welterweight, he joins another one of my rising young stars, Erickson Lubin in a weight class rich in boxing history.”
Vasquez, who turned pro in April ’12, has scored three straight knockouts heading into Saturday. His most recent win came just earlier this month, scoring a 2nd round stoppage of Jamar Freeman in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
