ORLANDO, FL--Tony Thompson and Malik Scott collide later this evening in a 10-round heavyweight clash, airing live on Bounce TV from The Venue at University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, Florida.

MORE RESULTS TO COME...

Samuel Figueroa outworked Javontae Starks over eight action-packed rounds between unbeaten welterweights. Scores were 77-75 (twice) and 78-74.

Several rounds were close but Figueroa was busier and more effective for much of the night. The unbeaten southpaw from Puerto Rico was buckled in round two but otherwise landed the heavier blows when the two exchanged punches on the inside.

Starks (13-1, 7KOs) was warned by trainer Tony Morgan that the fight was slipping away late. The 6'0" welterweight from Minneapolis - now fighting out of Winter Haven, Florida - responded in the final two rounds, but the fight was already well out of reach by that point.

Figueroa moves to 10-0 (4KOs), going the deepest in any pro fight to date in his young career. He dedicated the bout to fellow Puerto Rican welterweight Prichard Colon, who remains hospitalized and in a coma following his brutal disqualification loss to Terrel Williams two weeks ago.

UCF's own Mercio 'King' Figueroa (2-0, 2KOs) put on a display in front of his student body, stopping Boston's Kevin Miller (0-2) in two rounds. No knockdowns in the bout, but Figueroa battered his hapless foe along the ropes in forcing a stoppage at 0:58 of round two.

Miguel Cruz (11-0, 10KOs) had no problem adjusting to late replacement Anthony Abbruzzese (4-4, 3KOs), dropping and stopping the Chicagoland boxer in one round. A left hook downstairs and then up top to produce the stoppage.

All of Cruz' knockouts have come in four rounds or less, although Friday's result marked the first opening round stoppage of his young career.

Abbruzzese took the fight on less than 24 hours notice after Jonathan Batista was forced to withdraw due to the sudden passing of his infant daughter on Wednesday.
