Former champion Orlando Salido (41-12-2, 28 KOs) could potentially fight Tersdak Kokietgym (53-4-1, 33 KOs) of Thailand for the interim-super featherweight title of the World Boxing Organization  on October 4th at a location to be determined, according to promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions.

The WBO was looking to match Salido against undefeated countryman Francisco Vargas. The handlers of Vargas are interested in the fight, but not until the end of the year and because of that the door has opened for the possibility of a fight with Kokietgym.

"According to what we have been told, Francisco Vargas does not want the fight, so we would have the second and third ranked [fighters] contest for the interim championship and we are interested in placing that fight on October 4," said Beltran.

The manager of Vargas, Joel de la Hoya, said they interested in facing Salido, but not until December on the undercard of Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez's return or on another card early next year.
