Bernard Hopkins receives a lot of press for his longevity in the ring and his age.

Heavyweight Martha Salazar can relate.

The 46-year-old Salazar will defend her WBC heavyweight world title belt against Alejandra Jimenez at the Oasis Hotel Complex in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico.

The 10 round bout will top a FOX Deportes telecast, beginning tonight at 9:30 p.m. ET/ 6:30 p.m. PT.

Salazar (13-4, 3 KOs), who resides in the San Francisco area, is best known for her three fights with Vonda Ward.

After losing to Ward in February of 2007, Salazar would not step inside a ring for over six years. She returned to action in April of 2013, defeating Sonya Lamonakis by decision.

In her last bout in November of 2014, Salazar won a one-sided 10 round decision over Tanzee Daniel.

Since Salazar’s last bout, Jimenez (5-0, 4 KOs) has fought four times, securing knockouts in her last three bouts. In her last bout on Nov. 27, Jimenez stopped Carmen Garcia in the third round.

Also fighting on the Golden Boy/ Cancun Boxing card, junior welterweight Roberto Ortiz (33-1, 25 KOs) will fight Pascual Salgado (12-6, 8 KOs) of Colombia in a 10 round bout.

Opening the FOX Deportes telecast will be a 10 round light flyweight bout clash Ricardo Perez (9-2, 8 KOs) and former world title challenger Mauricio Fuentes (18-5, 12 KOs).
