On Saturday at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo there was a boxing function under the more traditional promotion, Teiken Boxing,in Tokyo, and televised as part of the TV program "Dynamic Glove" in its 517th edition. There was an attendance of 1260 spectators.
In the 10-round main event, Japanese WBC #12 ranked super flyweight Ryo Akaho (20-1-2, 12KOs, 26 years old and Hikari Boxing Gym of Yokohama) won by KO at 44 seconds of the fourth round over #15 ranked Filipino bantamweight Elmer Francisco (16-18-2, 4KOs, 27 years old). The Japanese contender found a successful return to the ring since his failed attempt to capture the WBC super flyweight world title - when he lost a decision to his Japanese countryman Yota Sato last December in Tokyo.
Ryo took the initiative in the earli rounds, thanks to his strong punch. The Japanese boxer was landing hard shot in every round until he finally decked Francisco very hard in the fourth for the full count.
In the co-feature, the # 1 rated Japanese and former welterweight and middleweight champion Daisuke Nakagawa (21-3-2, 16KOs, 35 years old and Teiken Boxing Gym in Tokyo) had an easy win by TKO at 2:57 of the third round over #3 rated Indonesian Elvin Marbun (14-11-2, 6KOs), who suffered his third defeat in Japan in three fights. The fight was stopped by the referee in the third round when Elvin Marbun fell to the canvas for the second time.
