In what I thought was a poor performance, Wladimir Klitschko defeated DaVarryl Williamson by a technical split decision. Prior to the fight with Corrie Sanders, Williamson wouldnt have lasted 1 round with Wladimir Klitschko, now he holds his own against Wlad. I thought Wlad looked like he was getting tired in round 5 and he was holding way too much. Wlad showed too much respect for Williamson and should have went on the attack as Williamson is a very slow starter. The end came when there was a clash of heads and Klitschko had a nasty cut on his head, his left eye had a cut over it as well. Williamson caught Wlad with a right hand in round four and dropped him, more of a flash knockdown.

The scores were 49-46, 49-46 for Klitschko and 48-47 for Williamson. This fight did nothing for the credibility of Wladimir Klitschko as a top heavyweight.

Kassim Ouma defeated Verno Phillips by way of unanimous decision to capture the IBF jr middleweight title. The scores were 114-113, 114-113, 117-110. It was a pretty lackluster fight up until the last few rounds when Ouma was really putting a beating on Phillips but just couldnt put the finishing touches on him to put him away.

In a very exciting fight. Jeff Lacy captured the vacant IBF super middleweight title with an eight round TKO win over Syd Vanderpool. The two men traded huge shots through out the fight and went to war many times. Lacy was hurt in the first by a bodyshot and the two men started a power punching battle that lasted to the end. Lacy throwing many bombs and Vanderpool countering with his own power shots througout the fight. Both men rocked the other with big shots during the fight and the end came when Lacy had Vanderpool in serious trouble in the eight round and the referee stopped the fight. Some felt that the fight was stopped a bit early but Vanderpool appeared to be on his way out.
