BoxingScene.com recently spoke to undefeated heavyweight prospect Andy "The Destroyer" Ruiz (21-0 15 KOs).  Ruiz went 4-0 last year and has won his last 7 fights by way of knockout.

Ruiz hasn't fought since last November when he forced Tor Hamer to quit on his stool after three rounds.  The 24-year-old Ruiz has spent the past few months in the gym, concentrating on losing weight and getting in better shape.

"Right now I am getting in better shape and just training.  I am losing the weight little by little.  We are doing it the right way. I am eating right.  Before I would lose water weight and this time we are losing fat.  I'm doing a little bit of work with weights and I feel my hand speed is even faster than it was before," Ruiz told BoxingScene.com.

Ruiz also said that the plan is for him to return on the non-televised portion of the May 17th HBO broadcast headlined by the Juan Manuel Marquez-Mike Alvarado main event that takes place at The Forum in Inglewood, CA or in Fresno, CA on the UniMas card that will feature 2012 US Olympian Jose Ramirez.
