American Larry Doggett has been picked by the International Boxing Federation to referee the IBF flyweight title fight between champion Amnat Ruenroeng of Thailand and mandatory challenger and former IBF light flyweight champion Johnreil Casimero at the Hua Mark Indoor Stadium in Bangkok on Saturday.

The judges named by the IBF are veteran Don Trella, David Braslow and Hilton Whitaker Jr. all of the United States.

The fight supervisor is Anibal Miramontes.

In his prime Doggett fought kickboxing middleweight champion Don Wilson who became a movie star  while Doggett is now recognized as a world class boxing referee in both the IBF and the WBA.

He was the referee who warned Michael Domingo quite a few times in the 11th and 12th round of an IBF bantamweight eliminator against Vusi Malinga when Domingo tired in the championship rounds and lost by a unanimous decision in South Africa.

We recall that Trella was singled out and commended  in the Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire – Wilfredo Vazquez Jr title fight in San Antonio, Texas in 2011 which we covered along with Dyan Castillejo for ABS-CBN when Trella and Levi Martinez turned in identical 117-110 scorecards for Donaire while Ruben Garcia came under bitter criticism for having Vazquez the winner 115-112.
