WBC mandatory Marco Antonio Rubio (43-4-1, 38 KOs) plans to fight like a man with nothing to lose when he meets WBC/WBO champion Kelly Pavlik (34-1, 30 KOs) on Saturday before a hometown crowd at the sold-out Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown, Ohio. Rubio claims to have put together a secret plan that will unseat the champion. He says that after he beats Pavlik, he is willing to stage a rematch in Mexico and give the entire Pavlik team a tour of the country.

“I have a secret plan that will not only take the world title belt from Pavlik, but will produce a knockout in front of all his fans,’ proclaimed Rubio.  “I really enjoy Youngstown and I look forward to showing Pavlik and his team around Mexico when they come down for the rematch to try to reclaim my title.”

Ramon Rodriguez, one of Rubio’s cornermen, also took some time out to take some shots at Pavlik and his long-time trainer Jack Loew.

“Pavlik’s fate is sealed like one of trainer Jack Loew’s driveways. I hope Loew hasn’t quit his day job,” Rodriguez, said.  “At least Marco will be able to patch Pavlik up after he cuts him down to size this Saturday night.”
