Former boxer Rubin “Hurricane” Carter has died at the age of 76 after a battle with prostate cancer.

Carter spent nearly 20 years in jail after he was wrongly convicted of a triple murder in 1966.

His case inspired Bob Dylan’s 1975 song Hurricane and the 1999 film The Hurricane starring Denzel Washington.

Originally from New Jersey, Carter (27-12-1, 19KOs) had since moved to Toronto.
