There have been reports in the Australian press that Anthony Mundine's father Tony has quit as his trainer, with a pending showdown with Danny Green only a few weeks away. Mundine meets Green at the Aussie Stadium on May 17, in what many are calling one of the biggest bouts in the history of Australia. The father and son team have been very close, but differences in the training camp caused a rift in their relationship.

Roy Jones Sr., who shared the training duties with Tony Mundine, will take the role of head trainer if the Mundines do not reconcile prior to the Green bout. Coincidentally, Jones Sr. played a major role in the career of his son, Roy Jones Jr., until differences between the two caused them to go their separate ways.

Presently, Roy Jones Sr. and Anthony Mundine are scheduled to come together to map out the final training preparations for the Green bout.
