Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. is spending some time at Big Bear and helping Jean Pascal (28-2-1, 17KOs) with his strategy for the upcoming fight Lucian Bute, on January 18th at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.
Pascal should avoid trying to make it a boxing match, says Jones, because trying to win a boxing match will give Bute (31-1, 24KOs) the best possibly opportunity to win.
"Pascal has the stronger will and he's the stronger horse in the race. He has a few options for what he can do to come out there and make this fight happen. He can probably outbox Bute to a degree, but that's what Bute is best at and you don't ever let a guy go out and fight in a way best suited [for your opponent]. You have to be making him move and not let him be comfortable. Without giving away too much, you can't let him be comfortable," Jones said.
"[Pascal] can beat him without walking him down, but we'll save that [strategy of walking Bute down] for Plan B."
