Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. (62-9, 45KOs) is putting his plan in motion to train young boxers and up and coming contenders in Russia.
Jones became a Russian citizen several months ago and is spending more and more time in Russia. Two weeks ago he suffered a vicious knockout defeat in Moscow at the hands of Enzo Maccarinelli.
Now Jones, 46-years-old, wants to share his knowledge of the sport with Russian fighters. Jones is a guaranteed Hall of Famer fighter with a career that first began in 1989.
First up, he is going to train WBA super middleweight world champion Fedor Chudinov for his rematch with Felix Sturm on February 20, 2016.
"That's in my plans. I'm going to help Fedor Chudinov. I'll try to train him harder to prepare for the title defense," Jones told Match TV. "I will continue to work with the young boxers so they can [fight more like a] professional. This does not mean that Russia has problems with boxing. Just the opposite. Just young boxers need quality training. 20 to 25-year-olds should have experience, and I can share my own with them."
