PONCE, Puerto Rico - Puerto Rican boxer Manuel Alejandro Siaca announced he will fight six-time world champion Roy Jones Jr. on Dec. 9 in Philadelphia.
Siaca told El Nuevo Dia newspaper Jones will defend his minor North American Boxing Organization light-heavyweight title.
"It's a new opportunity ... for me it's more than a title fight," Siaca said.
The 37-year-old Jones (50-4) claimed the lightly regarded belt against Prince Badi Ajamu in July, in what was his first win in 32 months.
Siaca (26-8), who turns 31 next month, lost a bid for the WBA title to Silvio Branco in a 12-round decision in July in Italy.
