Paul Briggs, coming off a recent war with WBC light heavyweight champion Tomasz Adamek on October 7, told the Sydney Home Herald, that he has spoken to promoter Stephen Duval, who is putting together the heavyweight Superfighter tournament, about a possible clash with Roy Jones, Jr. as part of the December Superfighter show.

Talks have been held, no word on the status. Duval refused to disclose negotiation details to the paper with respect to the Roy Jones camp. The bout is said to be a four-round exhibition, not an actual sanctioned fight that would affect the record of either boxer.

"I've always wanted to fight Roy Jones jnr and there could be the opportunity here to have Paul Briggs versus Roy Jones Jr. in a four-round tear-your-heart-out match," Briggs said.

If a bout with Jones does not go through, and it likely wont as Jones is targeting a bout against super middleweight Peter Manfredo, Jr. in January, Briggs said that he would like to face IBF light heavyweight champion Clinton Woods.
