Unbeaten Jessie Vargas, and his trainer Roy Jones Jr., are looking to test the physical resolve of former two-division world champion Timothy Bradley. The two fighters will collide on June 27 at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.  The Southern California natives' fight will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing, beginning at 9:45 p.m. ET/PT.

Bradley (31-1-1, 12 KOs) wants to make a statement after going to a draw with Diego Chaves in December. And Vargas wants to add Bradley's name to his record to make himself a contender for the money fights at welterweight.  Vargas (26-0, 9 KOs) holds the WBA 'regular' title at 140-pounds.

"There is a lot of wear and tear on Bradley. We all know what Ruslan Provodnikov took out of him. Jessie is going to make Bradley move, wear down, and go for and go for the big strike," said Jones.

Vargas wants to get a convincing win after battling to some very close decisions which some experts felt could have gone the other way.

"I always wanted to fight Bradley. He always got the big fights, something I always wanted. In the ring I need to out-smart him,be more intelligent, show him who is the boss. My training camp will be at Mount Charleston where I can totally focus on this fight - plus run miles on mountain trails. I need a convincing win over Bradley to get the respect I deserve," Vargas said.
