Roy Jones Jr, 51-years-old, captured world titles in four different weight classes.

Jones, who captured his first world title at middleweight, achieved a career dream in 2003 when he moved up to heavyweight and defeated John Ruiz for the WBA world title.

When he captured that title, his dream fight was a showdown with former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

The fight never materialized, with Jones moving back to light heavyweight for his next outing and Tyson retiring from the sport in 2005.

Almost 18 years later, Jones will get the opportunity to face Tyson.

This past Thursday, it was announced that Jones would face the 54-year-old Tyson in an eight round exhibition bout on September 12 in California. The bout will be distributed on pay-per-view.

"[I took the fight] for fun, but the risks vs. reward thing too," Jones said on The Luke Thomas Show.

"When I won the heavyweight title, the only heavyweight I wanted to fight was Mike Tyson. So If I got a chance 20 years later to get in the ring with Mike, of course I’m going to do it. How can I say no?"

Jones fought a lot longer than Tyson - continuing his career all the way to February of 2018. He retired in the aftermath.

He does not expect to continue fighting - after the bout with Tyson. He teases that he might face someone else if the pay-per-view event generates a lot of business, but doubts he will continue.

“No, [I won't fight someone else after Tyson]. If it’s a huge success, there’s a possibility, but I doubt it - one and done," Jones said.
