According to Channel 15 in Nicaragua, former world champion Rosendo "El Bufalo" Alvarez (37-3-2, 24KOs) is considering a return to the ring. Alvarez, 41-years-old, is considering a return to the ring in September against an opponent to be confirmed and he's been sparring with Golden Boy prospect Randy Caballero in California. Alvarez is being trained by Mark Caballero, the father of Randy.
"I feel good and strong, and I'm going to return because I want to be world champion again," Alvarez said.
The two-time world champion has not fought since 2006, when he was knocked out in six rounds by Mexico's Jorge "Travieso" Arce. Alvarez will return at 112 or 115-pounds.
